RCMI Newsletter Apr 2019

In recent decades, Chinese society and the Chinese church have both been growing and progressing, often through radical changes. Interior areas have experienced rapid economic growth and most people's material living standard has risen greatly. But at the same time societal problems are burgeoning: sliding moral standards, weakening relationships, increasing divorce rates, broken families...the list goes on and on. However, people's real problems are not on the outside, but within themselves. The changeless Truth remains that only when Jesus Christ lives in a person's innermost being, can he or she find peace of heart. The modern church must preach the Good News using methods and ways that can be heard and understood by the present generation.

In order to accomplish the mission of the Gospel, we must establish a strong church. Pastor Samuel of Revival Chinese Ministries is constantly visiting Chinese churches, helping them to be disciple-making churches, encouraging and sharing the Word of God with them, working to help them rise up together and shoulder the mission of preaching the Gospel to the present generation. "Church Development" (represented by the 'C' in 'RCMI') is an important part of the work of Revival Chinese Ministries International. Our vision is to assist the Chinese church's healthy development in its various aspects and different areas of ministry. In recent years, we ourselves have developed in the following ways:

1. RCMI Pastors' Fellowship

"RCMI Pastors' Fellowship began in November 2011 as Revival Mission and evolved into what it is today: a group of urban church pastors walking together and supporting one another by fellowshipping, sharing, discussing specific pastoring topics, and praying for one another. "Our goal is to see each church develop in a stable and healthy way; and also to accomplish the Great Commission of our Lord as all the churches work together, supplying areas of need in other churches and cooperating in joint mission outreach.

2. RCMI Pastors' Wives' Fellowship

We've realized the need for this group as we've walked with pastors during these years. We found pastors' wives have to fill multiple roles including those of pastor's wife, mother to their children, and often even having to hold a secular job...often a very high-pressure situation indeed! Our goal is that through this fellowship, pastors' wives can encourage and help one another as they find they are understood and supported, and so are also able to attain breakthrough and continued growth in their personal lives.

We thank God that the last few times these fellowship meetings have produced excellent results. As sisters fellowship together and share with one another, tears often flow as the Holy Spirit moves and hearts are set free. We ask each of you, please continue to remember these precious sisters in your prayers.

3. Church Development Emphasis

This is our core belief, one we emphasize most strongly: churches must develop in a healthy, balanced way. We do our utmost to help churches we partner with to develop the small group pastoring model, marriage and family ministry, leadership training, and other ministries. Our prayer and hope is that each church finds its unique calling, brings to fruition its unique giftings, becomes salt and light to its city, and thus brings glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! Asia Revival of Fire

RCMI held the first "Asia Revival of Fire" Conference in March of this year in Southeast Asia, in cooperation with the local church and the church of China. Of the more than two hundred leaders and pastors there, most were from about a dozen provinces of China but also many were from Southeast Asia, Europe, or the Americas. During the three-day conference, we experienced passionate worship, listened to preaching that moved and encouraged our hearts, and delved into the details of rich teaching. We all came before the Lord, repented, and renewed our determination to serve Him. At the conclusion, everyone felt we were returning to our fields and our churches full, renewed, and strengthened, ready to keep on lighting and fanning the flames of revival! Thank God, we see that the Chinese church is still in 'revival mode,' with many coming to the Lord and believers on fire for Him. Nevertheless we are praying that this revival fire will not be extinguished! RCMI's "Church Development" department needs you to partner with us as we walk with the church of China. Please help us fan the flames of revival, so that more of our 'Chinese comrades' come to know Christ! Before the conference was over, we'd already set the time and place for the second "Asia Revival of Fire" Conference. May God give us the opportunity to experience, together with you, the continuing revival in China, to strive together to see the church established and more Chinese people come to the Lord!
