"A Healthy Church" Seminar

In May of this year, our Shiloh Bible College China was able to gather local churches together for a seminar in Shenzhen called "A Healthy Church". In the two-day seminar, we hoped to reflect with the Chinese churches on how best to equip ministers and co-workers towards building a healthy church. We discussed the correct view on worship, issues peculiar to our own local church and we discussed how to spot the traces of folk religions in churches. The seminar, "A Healthy Church", was attended by church workers coming from different cities and townships. We regretted for having ignored this subject in the past; and even for not realizing the presence of certain related problems in our churches. Each time when a seminar teaching ended, participants raised various questions and shared their different discoveries on the subject. They had good interaction during the small-group discussions. They began to realize that they shared common experiences even though they ministered in different localities. Hence, the seminar promoted a sense of interconnection and togetherness in the Body of Christ - something we are truly grateful to the Lord. All along, our Bible School has been adjusting its management philosophy according to the changing situations in mainland China and the different needs of the mainland churches. We regard theology as more than just a subject learned in a Bible School. More importantly, after a time of learning and equipping, the students must apply this practically in their pastoral ministries in their church. We aim at training church workers, not just producing Bible School graduates. What is learned in the school is meant for practical application in their churches. May the Bible School and the churches work closely together towards this goal! May Shiloh Bible School continue to be used as a blessing to the churches!
