Development of Ethnic Minorities Ministry

Thank you for your support! The 40 students under our Ethnic Minorities Ministry are about to complete their studies for this academic year. Barring unforeseen circumstances, some of them will finish their undergraduate study within the next few months. Let’s continue to support them in prayer that God will provide them wisdom to complete their courses, graduation exercises and exams. Pray also for our Ethnic Minorities Ministry pertaining to financial needs, for manpower and other resources!

Ministry update:

Dollar to Dollar matching plan

Thanks to God’s guidance, we’re now working with an organization to strengthen the position of our education fund. Known as the dollar to dollar plan, this organization is committed to match every dollar we receive from our supporters with a contribution from its coffer. For study aid payable to ethnic students this September, we plan to increase the number of beneficiaries to 50 and beyond inclusive of existing recipients doing ongoing courses of study.

Ethnic Minority Training Center

We regard the ethnic minority believers as an important key to opening the gospel door to China’s unreached population. We realize the vast difference in lifestyle between rural and urban settings. Many young ethnic believers, if they drift to cities for employment, will find the impact and temptation too great and start to neglect their faith. We’ve been thinking about how to help these ethnic believers to balance their working life and faith in God. In the middle of May, we will operate a center in Kunming where the ethnic believers can stay with us for half a year. During that period, we will arrange for them to spend half of their months working nearby (at inns, food centers or factories). The other half of their time will be devoted to spiritual training at the center. We hope that such a program will help them merge their belief with their working life thereby strengthening their faith in their working environment.

The first group of ethnic believers, aged 16 to 25, will undergo the program at the center from May to November. We hope that through the program these young believers will acquire working experience in the city and gain a foretaste on how to strike a balance between their faith and their job. We hope that this will be a useful experience for them in learning to adjust to an urban lifestyle and to interact with the urbanites. We hope that the program will inspire them to share the gospel among the ethnic minorities.

If you want to minister to these young believers, we welcome you to participate in this ministry by contacting us. May God bless you!
