The final thrust at College

Autumn is harvest time for fruits and grains. Shiloh Bible College China too is entering the last month of its autumn semester. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Theology degree are finishing their first and third year of study. This is the month of high tension. Apart from attending intensive classes, they are to finish their academic assignments and prepare for their final examinations. The pressure is so great that no one can relax despite the coming break when they can soon return home. At this point of the final thrust, they need to persevere till they cross the finishing line. May God help the students to realize that their labor today will be remembered and appropriately rewarded!

During this period of anxiety, there are special days of relaxation for the students. One such occasion was the Mid-autumn Festival when students and teachers came with moon-cakes for a joyous get-together. There were many events like praise and worship, games including riddles and of course a sumptuous dinner: including a barbecue and a steam boat. As the barbecue was held on the rooftop and the steamboat on the first floor, it was real fun seeing students moving up and down the two floors with their plates and bowls in hand. Apart from enjoying the beautiful sight of the full moon and a delicious meal, it was a good physical exercise for the students!

Talking about exercise, the students never neglect it despite their busy life. They get up early in the morning and jog uphill to keep fit. We pray that our students while equipping themselves in spirit and intellect will also aim for a good physique. May they be guided by the prayer of Apostle John: “Beloved, I pray that all may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.” (3John 2)

In collaboration with the Shiloh Bible College of USA, we set up the Shiloh Bible College China in 2003. The main objective of this Bible school is to train preachers and Bible teachers for missions and future needs of the Chinese churches.

Over the past years, we have held on to the principles of equipping Kingdom soldiers and training local church leaders remaining faithful to scriptural truths and Spirit-filled theology. We believe that God will place His soldiers and trained preachers in every nation to spread the gospel worldwide. We believe the scriptural truth is eternal as Jesus says in Matt 24:35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”

We maintain an attitude of openness toward different theological schools. We seek to understand and tolerate their viewpoints but not necessarily accepting everything they teach. Our curriculum is made up of three parts of study: Scriptures, theology and ministry. We emphasize academic study, practical training and spiritual life. Currently, our Bible school offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Theology degree and the Masters in Divinity degree.
