Mission Training before Graduation
Each year students at our Bible schools are required to undergo short-term mission training before graduation. This time twenty-two of us participated in week-long gospel and healing meetings in different places. Through this practical training, students gain useful experiences pertaining to ministry.
The healing rallies held in the night time were attended by several hundred people. Many of them came with illnesses and great expectation that Jesus would heal them. And true enough, the Lord did not disappoint them for many received healing including restoration of hearing for the deaf and sight for the blind.
One particular case stood out involving a 25-year-old man. He was born exceptionally intelligent and he had a very good memory. When he was in kindergarten, he already knew about the three basic elements of the universe and was already asking various philosophical questions. In primary school, he had read through The Five Chinese Classics, The Four Books, The Spring and Autumn Annals, Intrigues of The Warring States and The Twenty-six Histories. He could also recite from memory the chronology of the entire Chinese history. Sad to say, his teachers and classmates at school failed to recognize his superb memory and intelligence; some even regarded him as a mental case. He was forced to consult psychiatrists and receive medicinal help. For more than a decade, this man kept away from others and would not step out of his house. Partly due to the effect of the medication he took, he remained drowsy most of his waking hours and he had autistic symptoms.
This man’s mother brought him to our meeting but he was dazed most of the time. We tried to communicate with him for 10 minutes during which he mumbled a sentence or two before dozing off. Then God’s word came to us that this man ought to surrender to Jesus so that the Lord could liberate him from his state of mind and remold his life. At this point, the principle of our Bible school led him into prayer for Jesus to come into his life as Lord. For the next two nights, this man continued to come to our meetings with signs of waking up and responding - much to joy of his parents. Praise God!
Our Bible school is now open for registration for the new academic year. This is a good opportunity for Bible school equipping for believers from the inland provinces. Call us now! We continue to need brothers and sisters to support this Bible school project in terms of prayer and finances. May God guide you as you consider! God bless you!
